Articles Field PRO v1.0.1

With Articles Field from "Regular Labs" you can create links between articles and create links to articles in Joomla!

Articles Field PRO is Joomla's customizable Articles Field plug-in, but in the PRO version, which greatly extends the capabilities of custom fields. With native Joomla lists all fields and values, then they are processed only as plain text and can not be associated with any other content.

Articles Field PRO from "Regular Labs" (articles) is a customizable Joomla field that allows you to choose from a list of articles (based on selected filters), allowing you to directly link articles to each other. The result displayed in the front-end article is a list of the headers of selected articles that can be linked by hyperlinks to corresponding articles and even displayed along with the value of another custom field. You can determine which articles are displayed in the user field selection list, optionally by filtering it into categories.

Version Pro also allows you to filter the list of articles by tags, users and other custom field values. Version Pro also adds the ability to show in the article all other articles that reference it through other instances of this field of articles, using the alternative type of the "Show related articles" field.

Version PRO also has a number of advantages, except for the previously listed features available in the free version, plus:

  • Ability to show related articles
  • Show a list of articles that link to the current article.
  • Create custom layout
  • You can get full control over what data is displayed using the Custom HTML Layout option.
  • Filter by tags. You can restrict the articles specified in the custom field, based on the tags.
  • Filter by users. You can restrict the articles specified in the user field based on the users.
  • Filter by custom fields. You can restrict the articles specified in the custom field, depending on the value of the other custom fields.
  • Open source. The code is open (GPL), which means no code encryption. Without using Zend Guard or ionCube.

Here is an example of how you can use this field for articles.

You have a movie site. You have 3 main categories with articles: one for "Cinema", one for "Actors" and one for "Directors".

On each page of the film you want to list the Actors and the Director (s) associated with this film. Thus, you can create 2 custom field instances of the Articles field, both assigned to the Films category: Name the first "Actors" and set "Filter by Category" to "Actors".

Name the second "Director" and set "Filter by Category" to "Director". Now that you are moving to the article in the movie, you will see 2 custom fields. The list will list all the articles "Actors", as well as all the articles of the "Directors".

You can select actors and directors (s) from these list fields. When you go to the article about the movie on your website, you will see the results of the two custom fields. Each of them lists the selected articles (actors and directors) as clickable names. Clicking on one of them will take you to the corresponding article. If you also want to display all the movies associated with each player on the "Actors" page (so that both category elements communicate with each other), you can do this using this PRO version of the "Articles" field. Simply create a new instance of the Articles field, name it "Movies" and assign its categories "Actors". Set the "Show related articles" field type and select the "Movies" field as the "Linked fields" value. Now on each page of the artist you can turn on the field to show related articles.
