ochOpenGraph v1.6.1 Joomla 3.x
Platforms on social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked, etc. - Ideal showcases for your content. But how do they determine which text and image shows when someone shares your content?
Facebook introduced the Open Graph protocol. With this protocol Meta-Tags are added to your blog / article source. These meta tags tell Facebook what the article is about, what information to use, which URL, who is the author, etc. This information is then used to display your article on the Facebook platform.
LinkedIn, Google+ also adopted this protocol. Twitter has introduced its own 'protocol': TwitterCards.
This content plugin helps you make the most of your content on these social media platforms by automatically embedding the OpenGraph protocol and TwitterCards into your:
- Joomla articles ,
- JCal Pro (events),
- K2 materials,
- Easyblog pages,
- FocalPoint location maps,
- Ochgotnews news
and ( new in 0.3.2) yootheme Zoo blogs / pages!
You can add TwitterCards and OpenGraph Protocol to any page submitted via Joomla! Into your HTML module!
Now you decide which image to use, which description and title to display to share. If the image resolution is not good enough for use on the E.G. Facebook or Twitter? Don't care, the image quality is validated, and if not enough, you can use a customized Foodback Image. You can even select a custom image per article (another image, then an image in your article) and use that. So you can share a professional image on E.G. Facebook with title and author's avatar in the image: This will not show up in your article, only on social media platforms ... you can configure to use the image for all authors or just select the group (ACL) of authors: How awesome!
